About The Sessions
Join us this October for a reading of Imām Ājurrī’s renowned work on the character and mannerisms of scholars, Akhlāq al-ʿUlamāʾ. The book is under 100 pages, with short and concise passages on each page. We plan to host four sessions, reading approximately 23 pages per session within 1–2 hours. Please note that this is a tentative estimate — some sessions may take slightly more or less time.Brief English summaries will be shared by the readers throughout the sessions. Dates: October 11, 12, 18 & 19, 2025 (two weekends) Sisters’ Time: 5:00 pm UK / 12:00 pm CA Brothers’ Time: 9:30 pm UK / 4:30 pm CA Location: Zoom Fees: £5.00 Readers: Full The reading series are open to both sisters and brothers, with fully separate sessions to ensure everyone can participate comfortably. On rare occasions, the sessions may be held jointly; however, during these joint gatherings, only the brothers will read the text aloud. [!] Please note that our reading series are not official maqāriʾ overseen by senior shuyūkh granting ijāzāt. Rather, they are fast-paced readings of books on tazkiyah, raqāʾiq, and ḥadīth among students of knowledge. The purpose of these sessions is to help students gain confidence in reading Arabic, benefit from the texts themselves, and remain consistent in seeking ʿilm—all without the formality or pressure of a traditional setting.
