Using Lip fillers
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
Lip fillers for cosmetic purposes are not permitted.
Such a procedure is usually done to imitate immoral people who do not fear Allah Ta'ala, and stems from a dissatisfaction of how Allah Ta'ala has created one.
There are some exceptions to this, such as if there is a medical need due to a lip deformity.
Beautification and looking after one's appearance is something which is encouraged in Islam, however Allāh Ta'āla has sent down guidelines for us to observe which help prevent us from falling into excess, distorting our bodies and harming our spiritual and mental health through the constant struggle of trying to keep up with unrealistic beauty standards.
Allāh Ta'āla has created each and every one of us in "the best of forms" (at-Tīn: 4) therefore it is important that as believers we are content with how we look.
Non-surgical and non-permanent methods of improving one's appearance can sometimes be allowed — a common example is make-up — but often people are unaware of the strict conditions that come alongside this:
1. such methods cannot be done to imitate immoral people i.e. those involved in open sinning like most celebrities, pop stars, movie actresses etc.
2. they cannot be done to intentionally attract the wrong type of attention e.g. if you do it to look more attractive to men (who are not your husband!)
3. they cannot contain haram ingredients.
Whether we admit it or not, a desire to undergo such a procedure often stems from a dissatisfaction of how Allāh Ta'āla has created us, and ingratitude to Allāh is a sin in itself (Hajj: 37). Furthermore, it will lead a person down a slippery slope of trying to constantly imitate and keep up with what society is making us believe to be "attractive".
